Pusaka
In collaboration with Vera Andreas, the following design was created, in which we see the skipping of a stone on water. Each tap on the water represents a generation. The water starts moving, causing ripples, it continues. Each generation chooses to let the stone skip and pass it on to the next generation. Consider it a symbolic pusaka, which means heirloom. A pusaka is also passed on. Think of culture, history, norms and values, and family recipes. Passing it on is extremely important. The responsibility lies with the older generations who must pass it on to the younger generation. If you do nothing with it, the stone will submerge.

Vera Andreas
Vera, born in Manokwari (former New Guinea), has been committed for years to keeping the Indian history and culture alive. She also owns Toko Y-von in Dordrecht and, on behalf of the Indisch Dordrecht Foundation, is partnering with the Dordrechts Museum to organize an exhibition about the Indian community, which has been living in Dordrecht for 80 years, in 2026.

Washing instructions
